a multi media stop motion film about ear representation.
ear to Stay
In exploring different objects and mediums, we aimed to create a captivating film called Ear to Stay. During the brainstorming process, we looked for common threads in our personal mood boards and attempted to create something new and out of the box. We focused on collage, stop motion animation, and humor to create this film. We had a lot of fun creating a series of vignettes about ear puns. This eventually led to a more cohesive imaginative narrative about ears. Within this story we imagined a time where ears were tired of being taken for granted. They become abducted by aliens and live happily in a new planet where they are free to live their lives without humans.
Part of this assignment was to also present it in a compelling way. We presented our process and video as members of the “Ear 2 Stay Movement” and immersed ourselves in the role of ear advocates. The video, at the end, was a cautionary tale for our audience. Your ears are always listening for you, it’s time for you to listen to them.
